It is every parent’s dream that their child gets the chance of a good education and are willing to make every effort towards this goal. Since education in Canada is highly valued, international families have a great opportunity to send their children to Canadian schools, as well as the prospect of getting admission to some of the most prestigious universities in Canada (such as UoFT, McGill, York and many others). Canadian schools follow a semester-based education system rather than a quarterly section. Overall, studies last for 11, 12 or 13 years, depending on the province in which students reside. Types of schools in Canada

1

Public schools

More than 90% of Canadian students study there completely free of charge. The tuition fee for international students to attend a public school starts at about 15 000 CAD per year.
2
Catholic schools
They are similar to public schools, except with the addition of religious studies to the typical curriculum. The total number of such schools is no more than 3%.
3
Private schools
Due to the large number of applicants and the relatively high tuition fee, it is much more difficult to enter this type of school than to enter a public or Catholic one. These schools have a very high level of education and cost from 15 000 CAD per year.

Accommodation for international students during studies in Canada

Since most international students start their studies prior to attainment of majority, special living conditions are provided for them. Homestay is one of those options, in which students are accommodated by host families with a comfortable living environment so that they can easily adapt to an unfamiliar country.
The inspecting supervisory authorities conduct their own research on the host parties, examining the characteristics and eliminate any chance for a student to be placed in homestay with dysfunctional families. Some of these accommodation requirements include the availability of a bed, as well as a desk and computer to work on.
