Scholarships for universities in Canada
Canadian scholarships for international students, the likelihood of obtaining them and the prerequisites for applying
Education in Canada is considered one of the most progressive in the world. Because of this, many international students are interested in obtaining scholarships to cover part of the tuition costs. Compared to the American or English model of higher education, the number of scholarships and grants in Canada is very small. According to official statistics, 1 in 40 international students receive a scholarship in Canada, and the average tuition coverage ranges from 25% to 50%. It is worth noting that a significant part of the scholarship funds is aimed at supporting Bachelors. With this being the case, scholarships for Masters and postgraduates are often limited to the field of activity and relevance of the student’s research for a Canadian academic advisor and a specific university.

There is an important difference to remember between scholarships and grants: grants can be obtained only upon admission to Master’s and doctoral studies. It is also possible to receive a research grant if the Master’s degree consists of a set of specific courses (i.e. MBA, Master of Business Administration).
